Throughout my years in marketing and supporting the growth of businesses, I have always wondered how certain solutions and certain technology ever survived – or came to be in the first place.

Saturday Night Live recently broadcast a skit poking fun at the mobile technology market and how confusing this new 4G LTE technology is for many older consumers.

I’m not a senior citizen and I also find this mobile network stuff extremely confusing! While this makes for great comedy on TV, there is certainly truth to the complexity of technology and its overall success.

As marketers, we are in the business of delivering results. Whether those results are new accounts, growth on existing accounts, better understanding of existing customers you serve or simply streamlining your current marketing efforts; all of my clients are buying results.

One of the things I have come to appreciate about the services and solutions that I seek out is simplicity.  I understand that business is complex and difficult to manage and grow, and often have complex business challenges that need complex and sophisticated solutions to resolve issues. But I also know that I don’t want business solutions that are difficult to understand and utilize.

Database architecture and customer data is complex. Legacy data systems are complex and usually require a special skill set to extract any meaningful data from them. Understanding your customer data shouldn’t be complex.  Whether you’re looking for dashboard to deliver real-time insight into your customer activity or just insight into where opportunities exist in your market, it is important to have very easy to understand solutions that solve extremely complex business problems.  Who wants a solution that is equally as difficult to understand as the problem itself?

Whether you are using your iPhone with 4G LTE or a bulky car phone in a faux-leather pouch on your console, just make sure you are the one listening to the customer and responding with an easy-to-use solution and integrated suite of services to solve all of their business needs.
