WILL YOU BE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF FREE IMB TRACING?

As of January 22, 2012 the USPS will be offering Confirm information for free.  It will now be called IMb Tracing…

With that said, I wonder how many people will actually be more interested than they were in the past?  The depiction below is from the USPS and shows they’re planning on scanning and providing all of the necessary information for the mailer.

With over 250 processing facilities being evaluated for consolidation and possible closure, the tracking of mail is now more important than ever.  The list of facilities being considered is below for your review:

The decision by the USPS to offer this information for free is an interesting one for sure.  The USPS lost over $130MM last month and offering anything for free is odd to me.  However, now that it has been decided, we will see what the impact is on the industry.  Regardless of whether a mailer decides to take advantage of this offering or not, they will need a respected supplier to help interpret the information.

The information that comes from the USPS is in an unreadable format at best.
