The United States Postal Service announced today a plan to transition to a revised delivery schedule beginning in August that includes package delivery Monday through Saturday, and mail delivery Monday through Friday. The Postal Service expects to generate cost savings of approximately $2 billion annually, once the plan is fully implemented.
Questions you should ask yourself and your business:
With the removal of Saturday delivery how will this affect how you handle the timing of your mailings?
Will you try and target Fridays now or does it not matter whether Monday is okay?
Do you know when your mailings are getting in home, and do you have a mail-tracking solution in place to monitor delivery dates?
Are you okay with the USPS removing this to ensure its viability by saving of $2 billion?
